    Justice Delayed is Justice Denied

Justice delayed is justice denied. First of all taking more than 25 years to conclude the Bhopal gas tragedy case is injustice and to top it letting away the culprits with just a light tap on the back is a big insult to the entire populace of India and most hurtful to those who have lost the lives of their kith kin and suffered permanent damages to their own selves and have been suffering pain, spending thousands of rupees on treatment and rotting in poverty.

The rulers of any nation are supposed to be most patriotic. Traitors among the public is understandable but if the rulers themselves have scant respect for their motherland, it is like the fence feasting on the farm. Traitors and criminals among the public can be identified and punished by the Government but if the Governing personnel themselves are the criminals, which is becoming more and more common of late, who has to mend the situation? With absolute power in their hands they can twist the law of the land to save their skin and use the harsh thumb of police force to scare the public. It is shocking to see even such a large size of population can be numbed and snubbed by such absolute power. If this can happen in the biggest democracy, where at least a few members of the fourth estate are still bold and sincere, we can imagine the pathetic situation in other sorts of rule.

Indians should definitely not take this big sham lying down. Already there is a lot of noise being made in the society about this shameful verdict. If a case involving nearly 25000 innocent people gets such a casual treatment, what is the hope of justice being done in cases involving one or two lives? Life, especially of the common man, is really not getting its due respect in this country.

Wake up countrymen, wake up and start reminding our rulers that this is India, a free nation and not a colony of some other country to dance to their tunes!

Very truely said Sudha, this incidence is just another slap to our democary. If no one is hearing out these people (since 25 years!) it sure is true that the same might happen to anyone else too (which wont be very far) if we Indians let turning a blind eye to situations like this.
