They are currently seeking an Oil Rig Repair Estimation Engineer. The position is based in Abu Dhabi and is permanent on an open ended contract. Specifically you will carry out initial Invitation to Bid document reviews. You will manage, co-ordinate and plan a team of Estimators for site visits, clarification meetings all are carried out well before the specified time. You will carry out site surveys and identify any site impediments. You will co-ordinate with other departments to review and verify the drawings/scope of work, clients’ clarifications and formulate the scope of work/BOQ and develop method statements. You will identify the productive resource requirements in line with construction/fabrication productivities and the project scope. You will identify the detailed material requirements and obtain competitive prices. You will identify the required subcontractors for relevant activities and obtain competitive prices. You will provide inputs and direct the planning group in preparing the proposal. Finally you will prepare estimation / project summary for management review. _______________________________________________________________________ Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate is likely to be an accomplished mechanical engineer with a Contracts and Estimates background. You must have extensive experience in the oil rig repair sector. (Candidates without this experience will not be considered) You must be a qualified Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Economics and/or Business Administration. You will have comprehensive knowledge of formulating the scope of work/BOQ and develop method statements. You should have excellent commercial awareness, excellent time management skills and strong inter-personal skills and able to be an effective team player. You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines. Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
