Anu;
Last sunday; we came to newport. I was in a "trance-like" state) Very very classy; totally different face of NJ. I am plannig to stay there for a weekend in April. Saw alot of desi's near Avalon cove)
Vidya;
We have booked edison village. Liked the community. The buildings are also relatively new. Was almst finalised on hilltop manor. We changed the decision after talking to the residents there. They told about beg bugs and roaches; and the mgts. we don't care attitude;. Roaches I can mange; but bed bugs no way

Hi Nitha,
We lived in Hill top for 2 years. There were all kinds of bugs and creatures inside the apartment. Many nights I lost my sound sleep
due to bed bugs. The advantage is the proximity to metro park
station and indian bazaar.

Not to scare you but came across this post when i was doing some apt search on Edison Village as well -

Thanks for the heads up. It is def. scary. I think homestead is different from edison village. Because hoemstead is near metuchen station and edison village is near edison; but under the same mgt.
But I will call up the leasing office and check the details.

The post i had sent was abt edison village at Edison near blueberry village.
Did you read the post fully ? It clearly mentions that it is near Edison station and near blueberry village.

I have heard about Homestead Village at Metuchen.
That is a different community which can be seen as -

Homestead Village at Metuchen Apartment Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Metuchen apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com

They are not close to station.may be close to a mild.
I had visited a friends place at Homestead in Metuchen and they are good but very huge apts.

Just wanted to clear the confusion and not to scare you or so.Because i am also in the same boat as you trying to find a good apt in Edison.

No problem. Our apt is not in 400 series. But yes; the reviews aren't very encouraging. All when I thought my rent.com and craiglist list days are over )
Do let me know if you find something good. And all best for your apt. hunt. I remember this old hindi song "Ek ajnabi; ek shehar mein" ))
