Dear Friends, With great pleasure I can inform you that after 16 years of living in the US and 5 years after applying for a green card through my employer, I have finally gotten my green card in the mail yesterday It's been a long and eventful journey! But now I am at peace that if god forbid, me or my husband were to lose either of our jobs, we would have the option of taking a break or looking for employement in a field not related to our current jobs. Now I can even contemplate taking a break and staying home to enjoy time with my 2 year old Cheers, Pooja
Congratulations Pooja. I can understand what a huge relief this must be. We got ours 2 years back and compared to many I was fortunate that I got my EAD just after a year of coming to the US and got greened a year after that. But I know some people in my family who have been here longer than that who are still waiting and looking at the bulletin every month to see how it has progressed. It really is a huge security factor, not to mention opening of some wider opportunities that are usually only open for permanent residents or citizens!! Congratulations again :thumbsup
Hi there!! Congrats..the long wait is over...You can join the "Made in the USA" club now..lol Cheers! oopall
Congrats. It took my husband a decade and little over 2 to get there. For me little shy of 8 yrs.But the sense of security that credit card like card gives is limitless.Enjoy it with a celebration.Good Luck.
