Is there anyone who moved from H4->H1 after getting a project?Need some info urgently

    Please let me know when one can start working? My employer says that he has already applied for my LCA and once approved he will file the COS. As soon as he applies for COS, I can start working. Basically, he is saying no need to wait for approval.

    Was this the same case with you? How long it took for the COS for you? When did you start working?

    Also, if you have any info on the overall process/steps involved, please throw some light on this.

    Please help me!!

    no owrries ..u wil get soon may be 30 to 60 days depensds on queue

    Ask this question in murthy dot com ,u will get reply immediately.
    If you pay 100$ for murthy attorney, they will give some 10 min appointment.
    post this question in working women thread,may be u will get some answers.

    I don't know anyone personally,but when I read some of scenarios I understood that you can work on new h1b receipt,because you already worked.

    Don't misunderstand me for asking to consult a attorney,just am giving some suggestions from my end.

    My H1B petition is filed in 2008 and I came to US in 2009 on H4. I was never active on H4. Don't even have the H1 stamped on my passport.

    Tell me if you have any idea about this case.

    Your position same like me,even I have h1-b approved copy when i was in india,I came here on H4.

    I got 4 offers last year ,but you know what,no vendor will wait till u get approval for change of status and SSN.

    -We can't even take drug test.
    -You can't get PO without SSN

    Now am looking for new sponsor,but no one is ready to do.

    If you already applied COS,once u get approval u can start work ? did they applied LCA again based on ur new project? did u got new LCA approval?
