    Hi Ladies,

Read somewhere about not eating kakarakaya/ karela during pregnancy (I am now 13 weeks). I love this vegetable very much and craving it a lot. Is it okay to eat?

    Thanks,
    Sharvani.

Yes, I had lots of karela as well, I love this veggie with roti and curd. I am in my 39th week, I have been having it at least once in 1.5 weeks since 2nd trimester onwards.. But I made sure I marinated it in salt to remove bit of bitterness and had it in moderation (1 or 2 small bowls)..go ahead enjoy it in moderation.

Its okay to eat. When I was pregnant and I knew I had karela in my lunch box I could not wait till noon to eat it. I used to finish karela before 12 and eat food without sabji later ... :(
    Now MY DD loves karela.
