Well I am thinking of following the youtube videos and give it a try to stitch nauvari saree ( traditional Maharashtrien saree). Wondering if it's possible to use normal six metres saree to begin with. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

You're trying to stretch 6 yards of fabric into 9 yards? [IMG]

that's not the point, since it requires cutting and joining the material.

It's possible ! there is no cutting involved , just some careful folding and stitching . I wouldn't know how to do it, but I am sure there are plenty of videos .

Thanks Sandycandy, since I don't have access to the nauvar saree . I am going to give it a try with old normal saree. you are right there are you tube videos for different types of nauvar. Some of them are with less folds as well.
