    Dear ILites,

Do you or your friends work in SAP, please throw some light to start my Career in SAP?

I'm a mom of 2 kids with MS(IT) degree and planning to study SAP at home by myself. So I need some suggestion from you people.

    1. Is it possible to get a job as a fresher in SAP?
    2. Just wondering where to start as it has lots of modules?
3.Is there any good training/placement companies in US?
    4.Any idea abt materials/certification?

Please share your ideas and it'll be great help to me.

    Thanks,
    DS.

    Dear DS,
It is a wonderful career in SAP. Since you have a degree in MS-IT you can go in for ABAP, Basis.
I'm a CA and my specialisations include FI CO and MM modules.
    But prior working experience helps.

    All the best!
    Savvyheal

Does one need to be working in a professional field to do SAP cert.?
What exactly is this course that can be done in 25 days?
Is there some SAP module that a non-IT person with no work experience can do?

I am moving back to India in a year and looking for courses that I can do there please suggest about SAP. Thanks!

    Hi Nithya,
There are different modules in SAP:
1)MM- Material Management -related to purchasing
    2) SD-Sales and Distribution-related to sales
    3) FI CO- Finance and controlling
    4) HR-related to HR
    5) PM- Plant maintenance
    6) Quality
    7) ABAP-Programming
    8) Basis

So a person need not work in professional field to learn SAP.
Anyways, core experience in that particular filed helps( say for eg, HR,Finance etc)

The 25 days essentially means a student will be taught about the back end related works, configuration relating to a particular module.

So depending upon your specialisation, you can choose a module.
Siemens certification helps, but it costs around Rs.2.50 lacs( exam fee Rs. 25000 plus taxes).
For CA's ICAI conducts at a concessional rate of Rs.96000/

    All the best!

    Best regards,
    Savvyheal

    Hi,
    SAP has two core modules:

    • SAP Technical Module
    • SAP Functional Module
For non IT graduate SAP functional modules are best option. In functional module there are various courses - SAP SD (sales & distribution), FI (finance), PP (production planning), QM (quality management), MM (material management), PLM (plant maintenance), etc.

    JKT SAP Academy :thumbsup
