    Hi,
Getting lower abdomen ache once a while in not uncommon in the first trimester. However,if the pain is severe and continuous, please get urself examined by ur ob-gyn.Lower back ache is common in pregnancy and not a cause for concern.

    Dear Neeru

First of all, Congrats on your pregnancy :)

Cramps in lower abdomen and back now and then means the muscles are getting stretched to leave way for uterus enlargement.

But take care if the pain is chronic and is restricted to one particular spot...do consult the gyn...

    Luv

    Ridge

    Hi Neeru

Lower ab pain and back pain are very common during pregnancy. But you can’t not ignore abdominal pains. Please immediately visit you dr and have check-up and clarifications on the same.

    Regards
    Shashi

    Hi Neeru,

I had lower abdomen pain often during my first trimester... And it was better when I applied castor oil.. Do try that...

However, please consult your doctor if it is chronic or unbearable as others also have advised...

    Love,
    Vidyaa

re: Lower stomach pain and lower back pain during pregnancy

    neeru,
lower abdominal pain is common during pregnancy.. i had it on and off in my first trimester and very rarely even now in my second. this is ligament pull, due to your muscles being stretched.. the pain should come and go... but if you have prolonged pain , only then you need to worry...

every pregnancy is different, and so the pains and intensity also vary....
unless you bleed, or cramp severely theres nothing to be alarmed about...

i didnt have back ache in my first trimes, but now i do with my belly growing... this again is not to be scared about. if back pain is unbearable, try using pain relief gels or hot packs...
as your pregnancy advances, try some pelvic floor exercises, to help relieve your pains..

    Re: Severe Lower back pain

    Hi Neeru,

This could be a ligament pull which would lead to abdominal pain or due to stress which could lead to lower back pain. Try relaxing and taking rest.

In case the pain persists, kindly contact your gynaec.
