For me the basic idea is ,
if v put the money in SBI,(always investing in govt' bank is safe) say for ex.10,000
for 5 yrs,v'll get the amount in double, this is what my hubby told to me..
this SBI bank will put the amount in shares, now govt' shares r in good position,so v'll get the money back safe after 5 yrs as double...
    other savings r:
1.PPF in postoffice, for 5 yrs.
it will use for tax purpose, everyyear v have to put the same amount,v'll get lesser int' but itz safe investment.

2.RD in post office:- for 5 yrs
everymonth u have to put the same amount, in this also lesser int',but it is safe.
if my idea is not correct, can anyone tell me in detail..
    thanx bye..
    vivbass.

    Hi members

General advise based on my more than 20 yrs experience in the markets

    1) It is difficult to pick good stocks and all the more difficult to sell them at the right time to make money

    2) Hence, It is better for Small investors and newbies to stick to mutual funds

    3) This is not the time to enter the markets;; keep cash ; and wait for the market to correct;; maybe in July we will get an oppurtuinity
