    Capsicum chutney

    Hi ladies,

Here is the recipe for capsicum chutney suggested by one of my friends. It goes very well with dosas and idlis and very easy to make.

    Ingredients:
    1) 2 Capsicum or bell pepper (Red)
    2) 1 Green chilli
    3)Salt to taste
    4) Oil for frying

    Method:
    1) Wash the bell peppers and slice them into pieces after removing the seeds.
    2) Heat little amount of oil in a pan and fry the capsicum and green chillies.
    3) Grind it with salt.

I love this chutney and tastes great with dosas and idlis!! Ladies, try it and see if your mouth waters next time when you see the capsicum!!!!

    Curry Sauce

This is quite famous in the UK is what am told. Hubby, who has been to the UK before we came here together loves this. We bought quite a lot of it from the take away chinese places before I found the recipe and tweaked it to perfection.

It goes well with fried rice and noodles.

    Ingredients

    2 teaspoons oil
    2 cloves chopped garlic
half inch piece of ginger - chopped thinly
2 tablespoons plain flour - maida
    1 teaspoon chilli powder
    1/2 teaspoon madras curry powder
    1/2 teaspoon garam masala
    salt to taste

    Method

Mix the flour in cold water and keep it aside (the water has to be cold)
In a pan, sautee garlic and ginger in oil for a minute or so
Add the chilli powder, curry powder and garam masala and let it soak in the oil
Reduce the heat and just shake the pan a little so the powders disperse in the pan
Pour maida mixed in cold water and keep stirring (if the maida hasnt dissolved completely, use a sieve to get out the undissolved bits)
Keep stirring the sauce till the powders dont smell raw
If the consistency is too thick, add some water. If it is thin, mix maida in water and add to the sauce

Serve it hot with noodles or fried rice.
