Inspired Bollywood Movies and their Non Bollywood Originals

I am starting this thread to list out Bollywood movies ( can be more than one) that are copied or inspired by Non-Bollywood movies ( can be more than one)

Here it goes:-

Ghajini - starring Aamir Khan - A student is endangered after she warns a wealthy male that a crazed recluse with short term memory loss is out to kill him, not knowing the reason behind the recluse's actions.

Memento - starring Guy Pearce - A man, suffering from short-term memory loss, uses notes and tattoos to hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife.

Notes - Memento and Ghajini both have memory loss,tattos, instant photos, a loved one killed, revenge etc. But it is not an exact copy because I don't think A.R. Murugadoss( Ghajini Director) would have dared to make a movie with the alternating timelines of memento.

 

Hum Tum - starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee - Karan Kapoor and Rhea Prakash meet for the first time in a flight bound from Delhi to New York. They just cannot stand each other: Rhea is disgusted by Karan's flirtatious nature.

When Harry Met Sally - starring Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan - Harry and Sally have known each other for years, and are very good friends, but they fear sex would ruin the friendship.

Notes - An indianized and sanitized version of "When Harry Met Sally" which while not as good as the original, is still good.
Don't forget the scene in the restaurant in the Hollywood original, about how an "O" should be. The lady who says " I will have what she is having" is the Director's mom.

 

Sangharsh - starring Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta - Police in India are baffled over the case of missing children, who bodies are later found dead

The Silence of the Lambs - starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins - A young FBI cadet must confide in an incarcerated and manipulative killer to receive his help on catching another serial killer who skins his victims.

Notes - While quite a good movie with nice performances, Akshay can't even touch Hopkins's Lector

 

Kaante and Reservoir Dogs not Inglorious bastards

Main Azaad Hoon : starring Amitabh Bacchan, Shabana Azmi - A newspaper reporter exploits an ordinary man for few rupees to pose as a man who is fighting against the corrupt politicians and prints imaginary stories in his name to improve the circulation of her newspaper.

Meet John Doe : starring Gary Cooper - A man needing money agrees to impersonate a nonexistent person who said he'd be committing suicide as a protest, and a political movement begins

Yeh Dillagi - starring Saif Ali Khan, Kajol , Akshay Kumar - Sapna, the daughter of the Saigal family's driver is a simple fun-loving girl, but her dreams are not as simple. She dreams about riches and day-dreams about her dream man.

Sabrina - starring Humprey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn - A playboy becomes interested in the daughter of his family's chauffeur. But it's his more serious brother who would be the better man for her.

 

Pyar toh Hona hi Tha : starring Ajay Devgan, Kajol - Sanjana was Rahul's fiancé. When Rahul was gone to India for official trip He is attracted to Nisha, and announces that he will be marrying her soon. Sanjana does not take kindly to this.

French Kiss : starring Meg Ryan, Kevin Kline - A woman flies to France to confront her straying fiancé, but gets into trouble when the charming crook seated next to her uses her for smuggling.

 

Black - starring Amitabh Bacchan , Kajol - The cathartic tale of a deaf, mute and blind girl, and her teacher who brings a ray of light into her world of BLACK

The Miracle Worker - starring Anne Bancroft, Patty Duke - The story of Anne Sullivan's struggle to teach the blind and deaf Helen Keller how to communicate.
