Hi all, My fiance has got a long term onsite at jeddah with 10,000 SAR per month as the compensation. Can anyone plz clear some of my que's : 1) Is the salary is suffitient for 2 ppl. How much we can save per month. 2) Any restrictions for gals. 3) Is it possible to get a IT job for me if i hold a valid VISA of Saudi? 4) Is the place is safe? Hi sudhrya, The amount mentioned is a very decent one...and will be comfortable for you to make substantial savings. I have been here for almost 3 years now. Its safe here. I live in the Eastern region...and Jeddah is in the West . Regarding the social life, I guess you must have gone through the various discussions in this Indians in Saudi Arabia section. You will get an idea. Mostly you can take up the job of teaching here. All the best. Bye
Hi Sudhrya, I have been here for the last 1.5 years. 1. Salary mentioned is good and u can save more than half of it as cost of living is very cheap here. 2. Ladies have to wear abaya when going out and no restriction on covering the head here in Jeddah. 3. Have no idea about IT jobs here but have heard that teaching and healthcare jobs are the most popular ones for expat ladies here. 4. The place is very safe and you can find Indians all over! There is nothing much to do in this place other than visiting malls/shopping and maybe going to the private beaches once in a while. Life will become very monotonous unless you find like-minded friends/neighbours with whom you can spend time with or keeping yourself occupied with some hobby. Renu
