Hi , I may get a job in Memphis (IT). I have never been to Memphis and was looking for area information. All I get is negative info about crimes and how bad memphis is.

Can you please provide me with first hand info about memphis? I will be working on the east side of Memphis, near German town.

Any info on good apartments, school info is greatly appreciated.

Please advice. Looking forward for your replies.

Welcome to Memphis

Memphis is not that bad as we are here from last two yrs but crime is here so u have to take care of ur timings.....means better to avoid late timings to go out.

You can find everything here including indian items but its a small city so public transport is not as good as in east coast and for the namesake buses are there....i can't tell you exact scenario of public transport as i never used here.

Well about apartments is that ....we live in kirby apartments its really good n pocket friendly too n near to German town n you can find other good n cheap apartments here.

Because we dont have kids so no idea about schools but u can find out once u get down here as few people are here in kirby whose kids go to school which is not very far.....
