Yes. Google "how to publish and market your e-book", and you'd get some useful things.
Practicing your writing (and sampling your writings to your potential ebook buyers) is very useful. Here is one person's advice on the internet:

should you post your fiction on your blog?
Should an unknown, unpublished writer post her fiction on her blog in an attempt to build her readership and perhaps get ‘discovered’ by an agent or editor?
    Well.
    Maybe not so much.
Because even when your fiction is free, it isn’t free.
It demands time and energy with no guarantee of pay-off.
There’s also the opportunity cost, the thing the person could have been doing instead of reading your stuff.
Remember that attention is the currency of the Internet. No matter how advanced technology gets, there’s only so much attention to go around. The human mind can only focus on one thing at a time. So the price of your fiction is two or five or fifteen minutes in attention-dollars, and that’s a lot to ask from a stranger who doesn’t know you and doesn’t yet trust that you are worth the investment.
First you have to close the trust gap.
You can start to do that by giving the reader something she already knows she wants.

Quite often, current events in our lives are bumped up in our thoughts, when we read posts on internet forums...
Too much praise is often suspect. "Know when to hold 'em" is a line from a country song.

Everybody wants acknowledgement , appreciation , a word of encouragement .
But expecting Praise is a bit greedy . I mean, no one is going to say " dont parise me " when she is getting paised ( maybe only to show modesty ) , but for many people Praise is also difficult to handle . They get uncomfortable whether its real praise or just " mukha-stuthi " with some motive .
Its popular people , especially filmstars , who get addicted to praise and will suffer depression when they dint get it or someone else gets it .

Have we met before? I am sorry that we might have to skip our introductions as I intend to hijack your thread with my screed. Hehe! Don't worry. I won't be long. I am fascinated by your post, in fact, you have broached a nice discussion. Sorry, for stepping in late. What? The refreshments are sold out.

OK, no more diversions, headlong into a serious debate. I was intrigued by your generalized "praise". I mean praise is administered in lot of flavours. Often with good intentions, people want to praise but blow up such resolve with foam and froth, [ahem], also known as flatter. Just praise is not effective so we must will to confer honest praise. I think the drawback with many good-natured people is that they tend to use hyperboles to show their appreciation which the other person though happy on lavish praise will reasonably grow tired of. We should develop the skill to muster sincere praise. Praise as such is a cheap commodity these days but sincere-sounding praise is still of caret quality. Though praise is a great motivator, sincere praise works miracles. I think it is important that we instill sincerity and originality in our praise and one must be mindful of this while appreciating the other person rather than smothering with cliched praise.

Here comes the introduction. Wait! I didn't yet write ...I am absolutely floored and gobsmacked on reading such a fantabulous piece of writing. Do I have to? Your writing is chirpy and clear and I liked the knightly alliteration in "pursuit of praise". I often find writing about everyday topics very difficult. One can easily write about esoteric and specialised topics but writing about relatable and common topics to draw attention is challenging. But you have accomplished it by stringing together a mythological plot, a nursery rhyme, and a marketing trick to portray the ascension of praise.

I liked that usage of "take stock of yourself". It implies a call for action, but in reasonable terms. That I say is a neat marker for the closure of a well-articulated blog.

Yes. All of us want to be praised. Some of us say we are indifferent to praise in the hope that we will be praised for being indifferent to praise. So there is no escape from wanting to be praised.

Yes, of course, we have met! It was only yesterday and here only, on this very platform. Refreshments were free, not sold out but stock out. Replenishment ordered.

You have showered enough of praise already, hehe! I am embrassed! But I do appreciate your way of introducing yourself, still waiting! Will it be before or after the refreshments arrive?

There was this President of our Resident Welfare Association. He invited the local MLA for the inauguration of a small temple added in the complex by the RWA. He wanted to please him also for obvious reasons. He wrote a speech praising him profusely running into some two paragraphs. He asked for my opinion, which proved to be from a wrong quarter. I told him why not limit it to one word and start with ' Hey Prabhu!' that will comprised of all adjectives in his honor. Needless to say, he shifted me to another seat on the Dias.

Thanks for your beautiful comments and encouragement.
