    Foods for Pregnant Women:
    Pregnant women can take

    Vegetables:

    ---> Don't avoid any vegetables. Its better to take all vegetables in right ratio.

    ---> For first 5 months take foods a little bit more. After 5 months as per the doctors advice,reduce the amount slowly. (Confirm it with doctor)

    ---> Eating an egg daily is compulsory.

    ---> In every lunch, make sure taking Cereals, Spinach, two different vegetable and one fruit.

    ---> In between breakfast and lunch, take some fruit juice.

    ---> In evenings, you can eat Sundal, Ver kadalai,
    (Groundnuts, peas),Dates

    ---> Salmon fish is good for pregnant ladies

    ---> Carrot and kidney beans are most preferred

    Some ladies avoid some vegetables or fruits. But during pregnancy time please don't avoid any healthy food. Please take all those with care for your children good sake.

    KNOW ABOUT STRESS:
    It is "physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension" or "a condition or feeling experienced when a person perceives that demands exceed the personal and social resources the individual is able to mobilize." Thus, stress was put in a negative light and its positive effects ignored. However, stress can be helpful and good when it motivates people to accomplish more.Example, Winning a race may be more stressful than losing but this is good stress. Similarly, we all have to find the right amount of stress that permits us to make pleasant music in our daily lives.

    Though it is difficult to stay free of stress, making some basic changes in the lifestyle and following some simple steps can bring down the level of stress significantly.

    Food essential for relieving stress:

    • Fresh fruits, vegetables, soups, skim milk, fish, and yogurt.
    • Nutrient-dense nuts such as almonds are amazing stress fighters thanks to high levels of magnesium, zinc, vitamins B and E, plus healthy oils.
    • Almonds are rich with vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin E, magnesium, and zinc. B vitamins and magnesium are involved in the production of serotonin, which helps regulate mood and relieve stress. Zinc has also been shown to fight some of the negative effects of stress, while vitamin E is an antioxidant that destroys the free radicals related to stress and heart disease.
    • Bananas are packed with vitamin B, a nutrient that keeps blood pressure and stress hormones in check during high-tension situations.
    • Milk also contains antioxidants that help destroy free radicals associated with stress.

    Foods to avoid in stress:

    Tea, coffee, cocoa, junk foods, egg yolks, butter, cheese, meat, coconut oil, cashews, beverages like soda, chocolate, sugar, etc.

    FEEL STRESS-FREE BY FOLLOWING SIMPLE RULES:

    • Laugh: As far as possible laugh out loud. Remember, laughter is still the best medicine available free of cost.
    • Sleep properly: There is no better stress relieving technique than taking a sound sleep. Don’t stay late till night, rather get up early in the morning and finish pending work.
    • Eat a well balanced diet: Eat slowly and enjoy your food in a pleasant atmosphere.
    • Exercise regularly: Physical exercise is one of the best methods to reduce stress. Do something you enjoy such as walking, swimming, jogging, tennis or bicycling. Spend at least three hours per week doing some type of activity.
    • Develop your spiritual life: Count your blessings and take time to meditate. Clear your mind and focus on peaceful thoughts.

    Painful Menstrual periods:

    Painful menstruation affects many women. For a small number of women, the discomfort makes it difficult to perform normal household, job, or school-related activities for a few days during each menstrual cycle. Painful menstruation is the leading cause of lost time from school and work among women in their teens and 20s.

    The pain may begin several days before, or just at the start of your period. It generally lessens as menstrual bleeding tapers off.

    Home care during Menstrual stomach pains:

    1)Do light circular massage with your fingertips around your lower abdomen.
    2)Drink warm beverages.
    3)Eat light but frequent meals.
    4)Follow a diet rich in complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, but low in salt, sugar and caffeine.
    5) Take warm showers or baths.
    6) Place hot water bottle on the stomache to relieve from pain.
    7) To relieve from pain...Ginger...is effective home remedy...boil a piece of ginger in glass of water for couple of minutes..add sugar or honey and take the ginger liquid 3 times a day after meals( Grand Ma tip for severe pain)
