I have a 20month old and till now I used to clean her tongue with those infant brushes which I could put on my index finger and insert in her mouth. But from past 2-3 weeks cleaning her tongue has become a problem, she has started biting me so hard while cleaning. I tried cleaning it with the toothbrush, but the brush is not that flexible enough to clean it well and also she does not co-operate much. Any ideas ladies? Thanks, Sihi
There are these T shaped plastic tongue cleaners which are available in India( I am not sure about U.S).I use those for my son.It works fine.I started using that for him from around 1 1/2 yrs of age.I am sure there must be some such thing here too.
hello try this it works.....!! hey little one.. you know that imp accross the street...? (dont compare with other kids at home) oovey his mouth smells all filthy his mom is having a tough time cleaning he is not cooperating you know just bites her hand.. she doesnt bother nowadays so he smells like the local garbage can.. now you my little one is not like that.. (hug) you are cho cho chweet smelling all because u clean your teeth yourself... you want a pink brush or blue? im going to buy a new one for you today.. may be you can brush your teeth yourself.. and clean your tongue with the tongue cleaner papa does it himself..and me too na? you can teach grandpa he has forgotten how.. if you want help let me know..i will help.. but you seem to be so independent.. in being clean and smelling all nice.. see how you bathe yourself with soap and water... attaboy i know me little one is the best... hahaha sathya
take some warm gingelly oil (til ka tel). use your index finger and slowly massage that on the tongue.. leave it for a minute or two and gargle well with warm water. as the child grows and can gargle on his own, u may introduce a teaspoon of oil pulling. this is the best remedy i have known to keep colds and coughs away.. it simultaneosly cleanses the tongue too.
