Hygienic Eating Places , Visiting In Chennai

    Am visiting Chennai with kids this month and would like for them to taste delicacies like Pagani poor, non veg authentic biriyanis without having to worry on stomach upset or other issues . Any suggestions on good eating G places for these and buffets preferably close to perambur, Anna Nagar?

    Also any good place to visit in Chennai? It's been ages since I went to any like VGP or mahabalipuram but want suggestions on any to show kids as me Ory of the City.

    if you visit any good restaurant, hygienic wise it should be fine. But "stomach upset" can happen because of oils(what type is used), strong masalas, and chilli powder, if kids don't eat that kind of stuff and their stomach can't take it,

    introduce slowly and give two days gap before trying again. Between days you can have milder food

    1)Temple bay-OMR
    2)forum mall/phoenix mall
    3)Amethyst restaurant in gopalpuram-i say its like central park in nyc.trust me on this:)
    4)Anokhi restaurant
    5)ITC sheraton lunch
    6)marina beach
    7)VGP is remodeled and it is awesome with kids..so neat and beautiful!!
    8)please try lunch in metropolitan in accord.food is extraordinary plus it is so light on the stomach.very tasty and it is venkatesh bhatt's restaurant
    9)sai baba mandir ECR-most gorgeous...
    10)ISCON temple
    11)grandsweets bisebelabath is excellent!!
    12)jigirdanda doodh!!
    13) If u have relatives in banglore,try to take a trip on road,highway is awesome or shadapthi express(it is liek flight with awesome food for low price)

    You already have good suggestions from other posters above.

    About eating out, I would say, if you pick any good restaurant you should be fine. You are good as long as you take care about the water.

    For drinking always use good quality mineral water. In food stay away from any item where water is mixed, as follows.

    Chutneys --> usually water is mixed --> stay away
    Onion Raitha --> Water or watered down buttermilk is used --> stay away
    Pani Poori --> a definite no,no.

    Items where water is mixed but boiled are OK. Ex. Sambar, Rasam. etc.

    Also wanted to add wonderloo zoo!They have remodeled it and it was a very good experience..inside you can hire good cycles for very low cost and bike around or you can take a mini cab which they drive around for you.there is also a safari ride..very nice.

    Then crocodile park.that is also good.

    where ever you u go please something hot.Avoid ice creams as if the power fluctuation is there the ice cream gets spoiled.Avoid salads as u do not know well the vegetables have been washed.Better to take boiled ones.
