Husband telling me" sorry" for the first time in our 17 years of married life

So you have bigger fish to fight than the smaller fish.That happens.Whenever my MIL visits,husband issues will get smaller than the MIL issues
Probably I need to wait 7 more years to see my husband telling me sorry.

So we have to wait till someone is gone for DH to understand us. Well, I am pretty sure I will be gone way before someone is gone. I wont see that day ever.
