though i do agree that knowing the HIV status of both the man and woman is relevant to this century.

 

WOW, so glad to hear this girl has rejected the NRI! What a pompous jerk! Asking for DNA and virginity test is really too much. I can't believe her parents were fine with the NRI's stupid demands! At least the girl had some sense!

However, tests for HIV and STD's are a good idea. :thumbsup

My friend has a similar experience the fellow was from US and working in good position right from the first talks they were very cunning and demanding they told that they dont want dowry they want only their son's happy married life etc etc then when the son finally came from US they did not inform the gal's parents they saw all the matches who offered them high dowry with very very adjusting natured gals and their parents they suddenly called her parents before night saying that they will come tomorrow that gal was working , so she had problem taking leave from office. but she managed. they came talked the guy talked to her for 30-40 mins. it was almost conformed, but while going he said that he has to think and decide and will take some time. The gal was smelling something fishy. next week his dad called up saying that the guy was tooo much impressed by the gal's honesty and wanted to see her and talk to her again.The gal told him before that she had greyhair. so they put a condition that the gal must sit before them without any makeup in dress with all the white hair. Her parents agreed but she felt very much humilated. but she sat just giving respect to her parents commitment to them. they came saw . She was feeling soo much humilated while sitting before him. so he saw again same answer that he need some time to think after 1 week he emailed her saying that she is tooo straight forward, sincere so he cannot stand all these qualities and she is not suitable for him. She was devastated by this email. She called his father asking him she wanted to talk to the boy. they did not have guts to make him talk to her and the match was gone. but she took the courage t talk to the boy's dad , that's a good step, by not sitting and crying but standing up and having the courage to ask. heard many such simlar incidents from many of my friends.

It is atrocious to learn the above behaviour of the boy's parents. Good that that woman stopped the marriage.

One important information : The so-called virginity test itself is a flaw filled one, for two reasons............One......... What they check is , whether the hymen is intact or not. It is usually believed that hymen breaks at the first penetration. Hence, an intact hymen is believed to be the testimony for virginity. But, the flaw is.............around ten percent of women would have a highly flexible hymen, which will allow complete penetration, without breaking. Such a flexible hymen, does not get damaged even with repeated intercourse. This type of hymen, breaks only after the delivery of the kid, from that woman. A sexually accustommed woman, can have an intact (flexible) hymen.

Second..............Women who do cycling constantly, slowly get their hymen damaged (even without their knowledge). This process of sub-clinical injury and healing takes place again and again, painlessly, making the woman lose her hymen totally. For these set of women, penetration is just easy and possible at the first stroke itself, without any break of hymen. Easy penetration at the first stroke itself, does not mean that that woman has lost her virginity already.

For these two reasons, the so called virginity test is not medically valid.............for the same reasons, it is not legally valid too. It is only an element of laymen's curiosity.

assurance of WHAT? that the female has not had sex? what's so great about that? suppose she was to have an affair after marriage ? then what will be she subjected to?

I think the "assurance" is that you don't want to be married to this guy or his family.
