    Hi to all,
My system was infected by virus and had to format my disk. I formatted my c:drive only so that i may not loose files in my other drives. my games are in f:\ I am not able to uninstall. :bangcomp: my hard disk is 80 gb and each drive is 20 gb but my f:\shows that total capacity is 15.3 gb. I think it is because of the games installed. Can anyone say me how to uninstall these files and clear my f:\. Plz help.

    luv,
    lakshmi:cry:

    hi,
The games list doesn't appear in the add/remove programs. When i use unwise uninstall that comes along with the games it says install.log not found. i am able to play so it is installed.

    Hi,

Since you said you formatted C:, I guess you also meant that you reloaded
the operating system. If you did, then all the reference to the previous
install won't be there in the newly installed OS. You can simply delete
the game folder in your F drive.
It's always a good practice to install some anti-virus program like
Mc-Afee and also install anti-spywarer like spybot (free) and make sure
they are up to date and also do system scans with both atleast once in 2 weeks.

    Thanks

    hi,
thanks to both of you for the reply .

if the link is lost and then i should not be able to play also but i am able to play. why is g:drive showing capacity 15.3 gb but it is actually 20 gb drive. i think these files are loaded over there. Is their any means to recover the space.

i heard this type is very difficult to erase and i should download something called limewire and also xsp2 but i am not clear about this.

I do have norton antivirus 06 and i do scan frequently but i am unaware how it managed to enter.

    thanks 'n' regards
    lakshmi:)

    Dear Lakshmi,

This is a simple problem. Before u formatted C: drive, you had installed games on F: drive. So there existed connection between C:\Program Files\<Game Dir> and your F: drive. Now that you have formatted your C: drive and reloaded the OS, all you need to get back the space in F Drive is this...

    1. Open My Computer
    2. Go to F: Drive and copy-paste any data that you require. (This is optional. Do this only if you have any files that you need)
    3. Come back to My Computer
    4. Right Click F: Drive and select Format
    5. In the Format Options, check the check-box that says 'Quick Format' and click 'Start'
    6. It will give you warning. Go ahead...
    Hope this helps...

And regarding 15.3Gb in place of 20Gb...

This size is due to the fact that when you get your Hard-disk, they say it is 80GB. But it will be 74.505 GB. And when you split (either by destructive / non-destructive partitioning tools like FDISK and PM8 resply.) them into 20GB each, obviously the last drive will have reduced capacity...
