how to track a parcel .......help needed!!

If it is any courier, then, go to their site and using tracking no. find out details; or, check for the site's details from where they have sent and proceed. It will take atleast 1 week to 10 days for any international parcel to reach us and vice versa.

 

First class international mail (USPS) doesn't provide tracking service to many of its international destination.

 

My father a few times posted packages in T.nagar P.O. and was just googling for the tracking option; found a site and searched until the parcel had left India. When it entered into US, started looking for the local USPS site coz, then only, they could be able to give us any update. In between, sometimes, some officials used to call to check if that parcel is ours or not. Max 2 weeks, it should reach you. Looks like yours has been taking for more than a month. Did they send from India thro post office? Or, ask the people to check the local courier or P.O. They should be able to answer.

 

I assume that they have sent thro USPS and in that case, visit the below site and contact them thro email or, as said, ask your friend in US to contact the local office and definitely, they will respond (from my personal experience).

To my understanding, first class international mail doesn't provide tracking services. Even if its priority mail, though USPS advertise to have tracking, they dont provide tracking to many countries - I've sent priority packages to Oman, but couldn't get any tracking info. I was told they don't have tracking facilities to few countries - may be not to middle east countries or to India as well.

If it was important, you should pay extra and send by Certified/Registered mail. If you dont pay for it, then you wont get good tracking service.
