Hi ladies. Please share the ways to save on baby formula. I am breastfeeding mom but still after breastfeeding my son asks for more. He's got good appetite. Dr asked us to give some formula. and now for every feed he takes formula and bm. I have registered and got a sample of formula at branded companies and also got a sample at the doctors office. Are there other ways to save on baby formula.
Hi Shruti, Well one of the ways is go for the powdered formula, than the remade liquid one. Its little time consuming to make the formula but they last for the longer period and costs a little less Lavanya
Shruthi, I agree with previous poster. You can save quite a bit by using powder instead of ready made formula. Otherwise, there is not much you can do. Maybe you can make exactly how much he drinks plus another 20 ml extra and no more to cut down on wastage.
Shruti, As Rakhii and Lavanya mentioned, formula powder is cost effective. I'm using Enfamil and I registered in their website. They send me $5 coupons once in a while that I can use for my purchases. I also look for deals in drugstore and Target. Last time target had a nice deal (Buy baby products for $50 and get $10 Target gift card, I believe) and I use two cans for J.
OP, Go to Justmommies website and register for yourself. You can select what formula you give your baby and register .They will send you coupons for the same every month. Also shop for formulas in Costco. You get more quantity for less price.Good Luck.
if your baby boy is more than 6 months, then, I can give you the details of how to give natural food stuffs, step by step, with least or no dependence on formula foods. We actually did it for our son. So, first tell me, how many months old is he ?
Definitely. But I am waiting for the OP's answer. Unless her baby has completed 5 months of age, it is not going to be useful. What we did successfully for our son, was totally avoiding formula feeds from 5th month onwards. We could successfully rear him on 100 % natural food grains available at home, thanks to our Dedicated Doctor (the child specialist), who is a part of the team which aggressively promotes natural foods and encourages the community to avoid formula foods. We will wait for some time, till the OP comes back.
Shruti's child is less than 2 months. Darmesh, could you please start a new thread giving information in the baby and kids food section about switching to natural foods? It sounds like very valuable information which could benefit a lot of new mums. thanks!
sounds interesting. I was always under the impression that babies need milk (breast milk or formula) until hey turn 1 year and then shift to cows milk. Did you stop giving milk completely to your son?
