How to cook Thinai rice (fox tail millet)

    can anyone please tell me whether every millet need to be cleaned?or only thinai,kambu?please share the procedure........

    Samba all the millets need to be dehusked.

    Samba In chennai u get all these de husked, cleaned and packed. I bought in brand name called Parambariyam they are available in 1/2 kg pkts. U can cook these as same rice. 1 cup millet:3 cups water. For procedure go thru the link which i have posted in the first post.

    For a change this diwali it is ragi, thinai and multi grain atta murrukkus in my home. and they are just crunchy and melt in the mouth..

    I experience a sought of discomfort whenever i have millets as my main course ie Varagu arisi sadham or kambu dosa....except ragi....other millets when i consumed i feel like vomiting sensation for a long time....why is this happening? share your views about these......

    Bhucat, I am having millets weekly twice in small quantities. Is it making you feel bloating or only vomitting sensation. I never felt discomfort. Let's get shanthi's view too.
