How should 80 yr old with severe osteoarthritis in left knee walk

What does it say in Western medicine?

What dies ur say in aryuveda.

I woukd think that person should walk, slightly bending knees.

he thinks that person should walk with knees straight

The 80 yr old had a grandfather who was a Sanyasi. The Sanyasi always walked with knees straight. He is thinking perhaps that is why he never needed walking stick.

    plz give guidance

    t
The knee Dr dies t know (he is in process of finding new one). The physical therapist doesn’t know (after first visit, physical therapist is no longer working at that location)

    Dear @SuiDhaaga ,

I am glad you are in the process of getting medical opinion. Please do do that. Keeping the knee straight or bent depends totally on the pain level and I think there is no hard and fast rule. Comfort and making sure that the condition does not worsen is more important.

That said, I looked up some simple poses to help with pain and this website had a few simple poses - Yoga Poses for Osteoarthritis Symptoms. Considering the age, please make sure it is done gently. The only word of caution is in warrior pose, please make sure that the knee and ankle are aligned.

    Hope that helps!
