    Hi ILlites,
This is another factor than I have been thinking about, how much of an effort do we make to keep in touch with people who live in the same city or abroad Whether it is family or friends, do we wait for them to get in touch or say " why can't I. There are more means to do it now than earlier, mail, chat, sms soon and so forth, but there are times when we just let it remain or walk ahead
and say that how it was meant to be or throw the blame on the time factor.
Is not everyone busy doing their own thing , but if we cannot spare the time and the other person thinks the same waitng for us to make the efoort , what happens? Sometimes we win soemtimes we lose, but isn't playing important??????

We cannot win by playing important always. Sometimes there is something called "Vidhi" and it happens the way "Almighty" wants it to be. We have to put our best foot forwards and rest......... Results HE DECIDES. Sometimes people do not have to make any efforts to be successful and this also HE DECIDES.

Hi janani...again another good one from you....yes you are quite true...what with lot of communication modes...we still dont take the effort to call....I keep in touch with everybody...take the initiative myself...most of the times the reply comes back in a jiffy..reminding me that the other person was also waiting for me to respond....

And sometime we just think we will do it tomorrow and that tomorrow never comes......

but still if you can still catch from where you left....that is great....................

A very prosperous evening Janani :)

Its as if am addressing my own self (my first name is Janani):). Absolutely true, as you have correctly put it!

How many of us stay in a joint family in this "e-world" as i would like to re-phrase it? We are more bothered about our own life and our concentration limits itself to the small circle in which we have enclosed ourselves.

I hardly find people writing letters to their family members and friends now-a-days. We are always better in handing over the risk to the so called "time-factor" and "busy scheduled life". Yes. I very sincerely agree that we are in a competitive era and that it is required of us to stick to our machine modeled life; but at the same time, to keep ourselves in the best of our emotions, to refresh and energize our spirits, we need to keep in touch with our friends and close buddies.

According to me, we should keep doing our duties irrespective of the results or gains which we reap from the same. Keeping in touch, is one such vital duty one has to keep in mind. Never tend to post-pound the emotions of love and affection that needs to be showered on others; we may never get a chance if we do not grab the present opportunity!

    Dear Janani,

With so much facilities today, we can trace our old friends, relations and business contacts through online searches and one has to take efforts and a little time to devote to renew those contacts.

we donot know when we may need them or they need us....Communications are important for an healthy relationships.

I always keep track of all my real & virtual friends in a cd & help those in needy.

    Subbu,
You have expressed a very nice thought of healthy relations. But we wait endlessly for the other person to make the effort. The Idea of contacts ina CD is very good.

    Yes dear janani,

Keeping all records in multiple email folders or store it in Cd's helps us to locate easily.

Sometimes our mobile sim cards get corrupted due to virus and we loose all contacts , it has happen to me once and due to the copy of Cd i was able to retrieve all emergency numbers back to mobile..

I used to keep 2 mobiles one for friends & relatives and the other for business contact. It serves during our business meets as well as to contact others.

    Thanks for the acknowledgements.

    Subbu

    Dear Janani,

A nice thread you have started... With all the facilities we have today, we often don't make an effort to build healthy relationships...

Back 10 years from now, we all used to write long letters to the friends and family, when we are away from them. But now with the popularity of phones, mobiles, chat and sms, we never try to write any letters.... I remember the days, when I was in college, i was very eager to read letters from my mother and friends in Kerala... They used to write long letters... Many times, I have paid fine for heavy letters to the Postman...

But now, my mother calls me once in a week or I call her... My friends never write letters, also do I. Now all are very busy with work and family, no time, that's true... But there is Phone connection for everyone... I think of calling my childhood friend one day and forget and remember that when I go to bed... So I will think, I can call her tommorrow... Even if I call, she will be very busy... so does not talk much... this happened many times.

Then comes the Chat...To tell u honestly, I started using Chat very recently to communicate with one of my cousin and my mother...

You are true, we need to make an effort to call people and make the relationship lively... But many of does not do that and blame it on time constraint.... But I do have friends, who never talk freely even if I make an attempt... Don't know what happened in between these years when I have not met them....

Now I am tracing my old classmates and friends through the Alumni registries and groups....

    Dera Manju,
That's a good effort to trace people you have lost touch with. Nothing should stop you from doing it.
