    the english name for pottu kadalai is dalia split the broken roasted chenna dhal which we normally use for making coconut chutney.

    yet another interesting and very useful thread. this thread will definitely save money for those who spend too much on ready made powders like bisibelebath, chenna masala........
    i saw only one method of sesame seed powder do u have any other method as well which uses even the urad dhal along with sesame seeds.

    Maybe i missed out ...how to make Garam Masala powder at home ??Your tips are very helpfull was looking for ginger garlic paste etc to make ..thanks a lot ..:thumbsup

    so much masalas podis , cant'resist. never used to making podis but from now onwards will prepare only podis by u r method.

    How are you? I was not well ya. now ok.
    Sesame seed powder? to mix with rice or you are talking about Dosa Miligai powder? can you tell me? so that I can give more recipes on that.
