Hope For Gamblers ?

My fathers friend came to the us in 1980s. He is very smart intelligent. But problem is be had sent his family to India and lived in us alone for a couple of years. Maybe due to loneliness be started going to casinos. And from there he has gotten a gambling addiction. Now his family is back ( of course they came back a long time ago ) but problem is he wastes his time and energy and money on casinos. The family is desperate and has lost hope. He loses all his salary in casinos. The family does not even have an own house in the Us now.
Is there even hope now ? What can the family do to stop their father and husbands gambling. It is ridiculous seeing them with no house no money and no good car when even people coming to us are buying houses cars and what not in just a couple of years.

HOW DOES THE FAMILY STOP THE FATHER/HUSBANDS GAMBLING PROBLEM???!!!
