THere is a book by Maneka Gandhi called "Penguin book of hindu names". It has around 20000 names and is quite good. I borrowed it here in a library in US. It is available in India for around Rs 400 or so.

The book by Maneka Gandhi is available on amazon. Check your local library if you are in US, many libraries have it. It is also available at books.rediff.com.
