    Hi Zeenat,

I am undergoing the same headache problem as you are.

My doc says the same thing as well that nothing is wrong with me..

But in my case, I am 47 and I have peri menopausal issue which can trigger headache due to hormonal imbalance. Also, it is a genetic factor in my family around this time of life.

ONe suggestion for you would be to get lot of outdoor exercise like a long walk for an hour so (need not be a high power one just a relaxing regular walk), every morning, lots of water intake, and mainly occupy yourself mentally almost every minute of the day.

I am not sure about your background if you are working, have kids etc., but in any case, good amount of outdoor air helps to some extent along with timely food and lot of drinking water.

My friend went thro the same as I did, but her doc says she is deppressed and was sent to a psychologist for a session who prescribed her some anti deppressent which has helped her a lot in getting rid of the headache once and for all... Taking anti deppressent has its disadvantage as it makes you groggy even after a long night's sleep.

Finally, the best remedy for me is to get a good night's sleep without any disturbance...so that the next day you will never get headache.

Sleeplessness, improper food, too much of worry, not enough water to drink are all the triggers for the head ache.

    Hope that helps.

    Geeth Priya

    Hi

I too had frequent headaches.I thought might be because of sight problem. The doctor had also checked my sight number and gave me some spects. But headache didnot stop for nearly six months.

Later causally had been to the gynec and came to know about my harmonal problem ,after taking tablets for that headaches stopped.

I feel you too should get checked with some gynec or so.

    take care

    dear zeenat

    how r u??

    I can understand your situation

i can suggest you to do some yoga exercise for relaxation and stress relief. some times stress and over work load becomes the reason for headache.

you can try yoga for headache. there are lots of asanas for treating headache.

People suffer from various kinds of headaches due to various causes like indigestion, sinus, eye pain, high or low blood pressure, smoking etc. but whatever the cause , headache is curable through the yogic method.

The recommended exercises for headache are:
    Bhujangasan (Cobra pose)
    Surya namaskara (Sun salutation)
    Shavasana (Corpse pose)

hope you will get well soon.

    best wishes,
    manisha

    Hi Zeenat, hello yoga,

I am undergoing another bout of headache for the last 10 days on again off again continuously.. My doc whom i met 2 days ago suggested me to see a headache specialist. So I made an appointment to see the specialist which is one month from today, in the meanwhile, the headache clinic has sent a bunch of info about migraine, muscular head ache..all types of head ache and the causes for it etc., and a lot of questionaire to fill in about my age, history, life style, stress level, anger pattern etc., anyway, i notice the main stuff they concentrate on is manic deppression which means how often i get argumentative, raise my voice or bitchy about things etc., which I don't do.. I am a very soft spoken person and quite philosophical in approach and no grudge against anybody or anything...as indicated in their booklet...Having seen all this, I plan to cancel my appointment...as I know for sure my headache is bcos of my hormonal issues due to peri menopausal situation and it is genetic too in my case.

The important reason i gave all the story above is in North America, the doctors relate the head ache issues with mainly depression, mental agony, bipolar etc.,.not physical.

The yogasana suggested by helloyoga is good...provided you continue practicing over a period of time without fail. I know those asanas and I do practice them when i don't have headache.. When your head is pounding, straining to do yoga will only aggrevate the situation. So if you are determined to practice those asanas regularly , you may not get headache often. But again, you cannot escape from hormonal fluctuations irrespective of your yoga practice.

For now, i have learnt to live with my headache unless I am treated for my hormonal issues (HRT- Hormone replacement therapy) which has lot of side effects...so I sid a BIG NO to HRT.

    Geethj Priya.

    hi zeenat

there are many site on net you can find about yoga and asanas. you can go through Yoga & health .. naturally

You can also find more information about yoga in wikipidiea also.

The regular practice of yoga and meditation will definately help you. It will give you relief as long as you practice it. A daily practice for 15 to 20 minutes is enough.

try yoga, you will definately feel the improvement.

    take care

    Hi Zeenat,

There are many sites which tell facts abt yoga, just run a search with google...
For your quick ref. i am sending u a file of yogasana poses to ur mail id....
as i have difficulty attaching a .rar file here..

But yoga is a slow process, which should be done peacefully and slowly,to start with just do simple exercises , dont do sudden bends and twists..

    hello

headache could be due to a whole lot of reasons:

weather..eating habits...smoking or near to someone who smokes...tension sometimes for no reason at all...hair dye..head bath ...too chilly weather..overeating.. sleeping late..watching tv for a very long time...computer too...no exercise...cramped place...in A/C room all the time...movies...too loud music...pmt...the list is endless...what you can do..

    improve your eating habits
stay close to nature..take more natural foods
    salads both veg and fruits
    avoid fried...and nonveg
see if you are allergic to certain foods that trigger headache
avoid going out in the sun after meals
are you straining your eyes..take care relax more often
exercise in moderation preferably in the morning after just a glass of water...
try yoga as suggested by friends here
regular practice of yogasanas can improve health and hence you can avoid headache alltogether..it is also in the mind so once you make up your mind to stay away from headache..you can avoid it...
wear a wet bandage...towel wrung out with just plain cold water..
if it is pmt..avoid taking heavy food for almost a week before periods..
do not pop the pill for every ailment like cough cold etc..try getting home remedies first..

    ...
    try alternate nose breathing
close right nostril with a finger and breathe deep.....in and out through left nostril .... three to four times initially..then increase to ten...no hurry take time doing it...but do not retain breath long and stop if you feel giddy or uneasy...doesnt work the same for everybody you see..!
then just about three or four times with your right nostril
remember that the left nostril cools down the system and the right one increases the fire element or heat in the body...
also perform namaskaram like indian women first day one second day two and go upto nine everyday preferably in the morning...

i have had se vere headaches before but after this alternate nostril breathing...touch wood..i have been able to over come this problem..

    good luck..

    sathya
