Just minutes before we had our first "discussion" (that's how we name our arguments, and that's the secret of staying together for 24 years) about whether should we reply to the wishes alone or together. The consensus was that we should reply to each of the greeters separately in our own way and at our own pace.
This decision is the proof of the first statement you have quoted from Gibran. Make not a bond of love.
To one's wife there's no need to dedicate a poem or talk in prose. If my life could be considered as a book the dedication page would read as under:
"To Indhu who made my life worth living.
And to Indhu to whom I'll be in eternal debt."
We have invited a couple over for lunch today. The man is 60 plus. And the lady is my ardent fan. That would be our celebration.

It's interesting to know that you call my wife Indhu and Chindu. Is there any special significance to it? Or to put it in precise terms of Tamil Grammar, is it an idukuri peyar or kaarana peyar?
