Happy Janmashtami

Happy Janmashtami to all.It is another festival I love.The smell of oil,flowers etc.The little Krishna vigraham beautifully decorated.The front door adroned with little Krishna's feet upto the puja room.I vividly remember how we used to wait for the clock to strike 6.30 pm.That was the time my father used to start the puja.I t would go on upto 7.30 or 8 pm or so.Then we all used to rush for tasty seedais,thattai,tritipal,appam,sukkiyan and so on.I still ffollow the same tradition at home.I get a new Krishna idol whenever possible.The whole house has a lovely smell of oil,jaggery,cardamom,flowers,incense sticks.....................I remember when we were in Pune we had nearly 15 bachelors from my husband's office for high tea,on this day.My m in law and me had made many savouries including a repeat of kola vadai.It had burst on 1st trial and there was oil all over the place.The 2nd try was good!!!!!!!!!!!!Anyway rest of the items like thattai,sukkiyan,badam puri,appam,payasam,vadai,seedai etc,came out unusually well and we had a roaring time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
