Dear ILites, Today is Thomas Alwa Edison's birthday which is being celebrated in western world as Electricity Day. India becoming a super power depends on electricity and that is the main reason behind the Indo-US nuclear deal.The per capita consumption of electricity in India is still very low compared to the developed countries. Nuclear power is going to be the only viable option for India. Wish you all a very happy electricity day. There are some strange facts about Edison's electricity. It seems he was afraid of darkness and that forced him to discover electricity. The first ad. for bulbs said that it is much cheaper than the paraffin lamps which was being used those days.
