    Hi Usha,

Celery Kootu is tempting... will Defn carry a bunch this week when we go Groceries . Have seen so many varieties of Green's on the aisle but never dared to attempt. I m a big lover of Vazhathandu back there in india, so would be good option too.

Do keep posting more recipes with other green leafy vege too...

    Thanks
    vaidehi

    Hi Krithika,
I have not tried making it without yogurt, but without yogurt it might not have the sour taste.

    Nivedi,

I checked the Korean market but could not find purslane. I will keep looking,

    Vaidehi
Please do try and let me know how you like it.

    Hi folks,

    Thanks for the recipe, Usha.

Try Purslane or Verdaloga in Mexican stores.

    Hi Usha,

Bought celery today, will make the koottu and let you know...

And you are right about the sour taste that comes along with yogurt..it does add that extra zing !

    Cheers
    Krithika

I just love the vazhathandu curry, koottu and pachadi. Whenever I visit India, I ask for this vegetable. Although it is a mess prepping it, it is worth it, in my humble opinion. Also, it prevent kidney stones from forming , I believe.

There is something about it that I do not like - dont know why! Everyone in my family loves it. Here in the US, since it is not readily available, I have not made it at all - so my daughter does not even know what it is! Too bad, huh? Even though I know it is good for me, I cannot bring myself to eat it! Must be some mental block!
