    Saag leaves

    Hi IL's,

I bought some Saag leaves from an Indian store thinking that they are very nutritious. Can you please tell me what are Saag leaves called in English? What kind of dishes can be prepared from them?

    Thanks !

    Re: Saag leaves

    Thanks for your response, Chandramukhi.

These leaves are very different from spinach. They have big leaves.

    Re: Saag leaves

    Hi Starshine,

I'm not very sure, but i guess it is Amaranthus. I got just few weeks back from patel.

You can prepare a dish with Toordhal. Just pressure cook both dhal and leaves with salt and lonion in it.

Once it is cooked and mash it little bit and finally season with mustard.

    Happy cooking.
