The rumors that are floating in Kollywood is that comedian Goundamani has suffered a massive heart attack and has been admitted to a private hospital. The ace comedian is reportedly undergoing treatment and is said to be in a serious condition.

Director T P Gajendran and director-actor Santhanabharathi, the judges of the Cinthol Sarma Padhukappu Sawal, chose Vidya, a college student from Coimbatore to star with Ramya Krishnan in the Thangam mega serial that is being aired by Sun TV.

Sixteen contestants participated in various competitions including short skits, dance and songs. The final three contestants were Vidya, Shwetha and Mahalakshmi. The judges said the final decision was a tough one as all the three performed well.

Speaking at the event, Ramya said, “In my view every one of the 16 here is a winner who can take pride in having done an honest and sincere job backed up by the help of the family members.”

கோடி ரூபா கொடுத்தாலும் இதில நடிக்க மாட்டேன். அதுக்கு வேற ஆளைப்பாருங்க என்று முகத்தில் அடித்தாற் போல மறுத்துவிட்டாராம் ரீமா.

Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming tri-lingual -- Hindi, Telugu and Tamil -- biopic on late Andhra Pradesh politician Paritala Ravindra, Rakta Charitra, has reportedly reached the production stages.

The film, rumoured to be five hours long, will be released later in 2010 in two parts, staggered by a three-month gap.

Ravi, as he was known, was a feared name in the infamous faction politics of Andhra Pradesh, who rose to be a minister in the cabinet of former Andhra chief minister the late N T Rama Rao.

Ravi, who himself owned a dubious, crime-riddled record, was assassinated in January 2005, at the behest of Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, a long-standing political and personal rival of Ravi's.

While researching for the film, Ram Gopal Verma met with Suri in Anantapur jail, where Suri was being held.

Looking at the cast, perhaps most interesting is that Tamil superstar Surya makes his debut in Hindi, essaying the role of Suri, while Bollywood heart-throb Vivek Oberoi plays the dreaded Paritala Ravi.

Hopefully Surya, who waited a long time indeed to make his Hindi debut, is up to the challenge!

He shouldn't have too many problems. After all, he's known for his versatility as an actor.

 

Deepika was the center of attraction on the opening day of IPL 2010. Not only did she give a red-hot performance on the 'Uff Teri Adaa' but she was also spotted having a good time with RC owner, Vijay Mallya and his son Siddharth. She seemed at ease interacting with the Kingfisher heir and his friends. The two seemed very fond of each other, so much so that they even chose to leave the venue together just minutes into the second half of the match.

 

Veteran actor Dharmendra was Wednesday admitted to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education (PGIMER) here following chest pain.

A PGIMER spokesperson said that the actor was examined by doctors at the institute and later discharged.

He had complained of fatigue and chest pain Tuesday night.

Dharmendra has been in various places in Punjab to shoot his new Hindi film "Yamla Pagla Deewana". Both his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, are also acting in this movie.

Dharmendra, who hails from Sahnewal town near the industrial city of Ludhiana, 110 km from here, was a popular Bollywood hero in the 1960s and 1970s. He was the main lead in the Bollywood blockbuster "Sholay".
