is it o.k to feed plain deep fried chciken skin to 2.5 year old underweight kid? some one said that cholesterol is not a problem for kids. they can eat and digest anything cause they play a lot. so there is no need to remove chicken skins for them instead they could be fed deep fried chicken skins so they'll put on weight. now am not sure if thats the right thing to do. please can soem one advice me on this matter and give me a proper scientific explanation if this is right or wrong thing to do. thanks a lot in advance. shardu
Hi shardu, Is your kid underweight as per the medical standards or is it just that he's lost weight recently. In the second case,u need not worry. My 2 cents Even in case he is underweight,u can easily bring it to normal. But raising weight by feeding on fatty stuff like chicken skin ,is not advisable even for kids,b'cos excess fat begins to accumulate in one's body right from childhood. Also this may develop into an unhealthy food habit later. Instead you can inmclude plenty of proteins - Milk Soy Milk Eggs Cheese Yogurt Peanut Butter Lean Meats, Fish, and Poultry Beans, Tofu, Lentils, and other Legumes Grains, including bread and pasta Nuts and Seeds Proteins are the actual body builders.:thumbsup
