    Dear Pragati,

Feta is often used in salads like Traveller mentions, esp in Greek salads.
It can also be used as pizza topping along with spinach or green peppers, onions and olives.
If you eat eggs and meat, feta can be used in omelettes and also makes a good topping for chicken and fish bake where you can use it as a crusty topping mixed along with onions, spinach or other suitable vegetable.
    Hope that helps.

    L, Kamla

    Re: Queries related to Soup

    Smith,

I have tried knorr and maggi brand soups. It was very tasty but if you are calorie concious you can avoid that. Recently Campbell came with their brand of restaurent quality soups. Now I dont see them in any of the grocery stores.

Amy's brand is good, but after a week I felt very boring. These days I make my own soup.

    Re: Freeze Idli

    AC dear,

I freeze idlis in an airtight container, dip it in water, take it out immediately. Then microwave, turning in between. Time varies according to the amount of idlis. Not for long, though.

Regarding sambar I don't have personal experience. But, I heard. Thaw it in the fridge itself, shifting from freezer. Then, microwave or warm it on stove top without overheating.

    Re: Freeze Idli

    Hi Chitra,

I freeze sambar in airtight container.
if you want to freeze ,after boiling sambar don't season it.

take out the frozen sambar 2-3 hrs out before and keep on stove until you get one boil or microwave for one boil. and season it .it tastes fresh.

    hope it helped you,

    Radhika

    Question about Deggi Mirch

I have seen in Indian cookbooks several definitions for exactly what is deggi mirch. The last one I saw said it was paprika. I had thought it was a specific red pepper not paprika which is a milder powder made from pimentoes. Also, can I have specific information what is difference of Kashmiri chilli powder as opposed to regular lal mirch powder?

I am western lady doing Indian cooking and having large Indian cookbook library.
