I don't remember any such funny facts about my MIL right now.

i just dropped in to say what i felt after reading some posts...

I am 27 years old. i can say that now. but not sure after i turn 30, i might tell my age as 29 for atleast a year.
and i don't like someone calling me "aunty". So the same applies to my MIL. If she does not like to tell her age, its her personal wish, who are we to make fun of it??

And beauty is also applicable to all ages, since they turn 60 or 50 that doesn't mean they should not admire themselves, i don't find it funny either. I will be happy to look at my MIL or my Mom doing that. i even took my MIL to parlor and she loves that but my Mom does not. its their wish.

Silverlights, what a calculation?? she missed the chance of being a finance minister,and that Spinach its really funny...

i got married 60 days back only.. my MIL's mother telling her tat she could not identify who is the bride.. oh god really i feel laughing sometimes irritating..
i am so fair. i used to prefer light colors.. up to her light colors means its less cost whereas dark colors means more cost.. when she comment on my dressing i really get irritated

Well, I was once grinding spinach in kitchen (in MIL's absence) and as the boiled spinach was hot, it spilled out of the jar once I switched on the grinder and fell on the kitchen slab. I cleaned it but later when MIL came back home she gave me a long lecture on how careful I should be while using grinder for spinach. :spin

After few days we boiled spinach again and MIL told me that today she show how to use the grinder for spinach.
She filled the spinach in the jar and showed me how to close it properly and switched on the grinder. And guess what, the moment she switched it on, the spinach came out of the jar and got spilled on the kitchen wall, slab, MIL's face and clothes!! HAHAHAHAHAH :rotfl:biglaugh

I wanted to laugh so badly, but had to hide it and show care and concern as she had put green chilies in spinach while boiling it. We ended up cleaning the whole mess and her face was worth watching! Later I went to my bedroom and laughed a lot on this colorful lecture session! :biggrin2::rotfl

interesting thread!!

my MIL always boasts of her cooking when her kids were young. Once my SIL said - Mom did you really do this - anyways its nowhere in my mempry!
i dint know how to react.
I always cook special dishes and passes on the recepie and tyips to her which she would be hearing for the first time for sure. When next time I make it I can hear the same fromher as advice!!! Whatto do otehr than laugh inside!

I too can't judge clearly whether ur husband is telling it sarcastically or as a complement :confused2: may be do one thing.. next time u take more time or pay more attention to getting ready.. If ur hubby is happy abt it then he gave u a sarcastic comment.. or if he gets angry then definitely he gave u a complement :thumbsup
