@renuga Try distracting her after 3 spoons and then feed her. She seems to be having less (just like my DD). Allow her to pick and eat too.

Ramya, i so wish I can allow mine to pick and eat. She is still at semi solids; meaning I still have to purée a little. Corse though. She is 8.5 months. Is this normal? She gags otherwise. Since she doesn't have any teeth yet, I am scared to give anything completely as is, like grapes etc

@renuga feeding my dd is a big challenge. I don't distract with TV. I give her spoons/small utensils from kitchen. Whenever she is engrossed in them, I give her couple of mouthfuls.

Are you still BFing her or giving her bottle? Maybe she takes comfort in that.

@rakhii does she do the chewing action? It does not matter if she does not have any teeth. Even my DD cut her first tooth when she was 10.5 months old.

Did you try giving Gerber puffs? They dissolve in the mouth. So you don't have to worry about choking. It is early for grapes, unless you want to hold them when she bites.

@Rakhii, my DD also cut her first tooth when she was 10 months old but started chewing around 8 months. So try giving a little coarse texture and see if she chews. If she doesn't, wait for few more days and try.

@renuga, my DD also rejects after 3-4 tsps sometimes. This is what I do:
Phase I - I bring my plate and start eating. She gets interested and eats a few more tsps
Phase II - if she rejects again, I add a tsp of curd to her plate and give a little bit along with her food. She eats a little more
Phase III - if she rejects again, switch on the TV. If her favorite ads play, she takes a few more tsps

This has become a routine...I know I shouldn't distract her with TV. But sometimes, that's the only way she eats a little more.
