    Pooh,
    Thanks. Will try that.

yesterday, I tried Pon's recipe that was mentioned in this thread..to add ragi powder+rice+dal+veggies.....she spit the entire thing out. Then i made porridge out of ragi powder and fed her.

BTW, can you plz tell me which brand of oats do you use? any flavors? I learn from the thread that we must use rolled oats and not the quick cooking ones.
Also, She likes biscuits very much. I gave her the regular ones like Marie(ones with wheat), but she got constipated very badly. Any baby biscuits??

jumbo white oats/bagrrys white oats, actually u can also give the quick cooking, just that they have fiber lost coz of over milling/refining.
i dont use any flavor, u may add 1/4 tsp jaggery syrup to her oats porridge, mine takes with 1 full mashed banana+2 tbsp oats_ 1/2 cup milk half cup water

we dont do any special buiscuits though, since she is okay with marie/rusks/milkbikis

hi all i am new to this forum and i njoyed reading this for past two days .very interesting and very useful.. thanks
my son is 10 months old i still breast feed him most of the time . he sometimes gives me more trouble in the night.. i am worried how will stop feeding him and introduce bottle milk .
i started giving him solids , from 5 th month i give him cerlac, from 6th month i started giving idli, and from 8th month i started rice, carrot ,beans and i give him oats and kanji ( home made ) and give him mashed potato , cooked apple and apple juice ..some times i even try to give him pocket milk in sipper .. i am forcing him to drink, sometimes he drinks and some times he started playing with sipper .
my schedule for my son is
    7am - 8 am -BM
    8.30-9 AM Bf - idli/dosa/oats /
he sleeps by 9.30 -10 am
    sleeps for 2 hrs
depends on his intake he drink BM after wakeup
i will give him bath i will give him dal rice with rasam/veggies
    (carrot and beans )/mash potatoes.
    by 2-2.30 he again sleeps
    4PM - cooked apple
    5PM -MILK ,some times kanji
    7.30 - cerlac ..
but the intake of solids is veryless he is not taking enough qty .
I m planning to give him soups, have anybody tried ?wattype of soups ?how to make it ? we dont take egg in our home but i am ready to give him .
*if i breast feed only he is sleeping, how to change this habit ?
    * chickoo how to give ,cooked or fresh?
sudha : in ur recipe potato and jaggery can we add honey instead of jaggery?

    regards
    ramya

Ramya, jaggery is always better, not honey. Soups - you can make thick soups with veggies/lentils/dhal and serve as per your baby's preference. They are wholesome. Breastfeeding, no idea, i myself am there, breastfeeding my 14months old. No idea when I would wean him and how :)
There are wonderful threads and receipes here, pls do browse around and use the advanced search feature for the forum. You can try them one by one and your baby will definitely like some of them:)
