we would be going on a vacation next week to munnar from bangalore(self drive in car). we have a 9 month old baby. we would be carrying all food items and lots of clothes and medicines for baby . neverthless we would like to know from moms who have travelled before with baby on specific items we should be carrying that would be important . also since we would be travelling by car, anythign to be packed for the journey... lots of wet wipes and extra clothes is what i have thought of just in case baby does poops.also cerelac and hot water in flasks.
You can carry jarred baby food, some snacks whatever your baby eats (like crackers, puffs etc)..Also carry favorite toys, books with colorful pictures etc.. If you plan to take baby out in the sun then a good sunscreen lotion and a baby hat..stroller would be definitely helpful so that you don't have to carry the baby all day long....Try to take a backpak for a on the go diaper bag..It's easy even for men to carry it...If you decide to do a picnic there then carry a bedsheet to spread.. For sleeping - take baby's favorite blanket or bedding with u... Don't introduce any new baby food while on vacation. Carry only familiar foods. and give only boiled water... Don't plan too many outings in a day...Make sure your baby gets the designated naps. Otherwise he/she will be very cranky...And try not to mess with their night time schedule...Since your baby is still young, you need to work around things based on his/her schedule. Of course don't forget you camera..After all it's the baby's first vacation.. Enjoy and have fun
Balaram. You will be fine. We go to places most weekends with the baby (5 to 9 hrs travel time). Never was a problem. Things we pack - Food, Water, Diapers, Lots of baniyans (baniyan and diaper is a beautiful outfit :biglaugh , toys, wipes. Munnar - Mosquito repellent and a mosquito net would be of great help. Not to mention - Baby's bedding. I would not use the ones that hotel provides. During the drive: Halfway during the drive, we stop for an hour. Feed the baby with something solid. Sponge bath the baby in car and get him fresh. That will be very comforting. Safe Trips.
u know u get these bottle/food warmers that can be used in the car,whr u fix the lighter in the car.....its saves a good deal of mess for us.
