Happy 2008 folks! Dear members of Indusladies.com.... The final month of 2007 brings you its Finest Post! Let us all applaud Punitha for "Calling 911 and its impact" !...She has the winner there! Puni88's (Punitha) contribution is a winner for its complexity and enormity. She has dared to openly discuss her very private happenings so that the other women in her situation can profit out of it. Thankfully, very few of us need to, if ever, call 911. As such, what is the chance of a woman (or for that matter, anyone) who is driven to desperation knowing the impact of making such a call ? Surely, there are no handbooks on it?! Hence, this thread started by Puni becomes unique in giving an insight to such info experienced first hand. As such, a big helping hand to those who are thrust into a terrible dilemma. I must add here that all those who participated in this thread started by Puni and contributed very valuable inputs and further detailed information about calling 911 are all winners of this month! The 'prize' may go to Punitha for boldly starting the thread, but the 'praise' goes to all of them, surely Congratulations and thank you Punitha ! Dear Punitha My hearty congratulations to you for winning the Best Post of December 2007! As Kamla says, there was a disarming openness and sincerity in what you wrote. Such stuff hardly goes uncrowned! Kudos to Kamla and Vidya for their wonderful job and judgementall skills! Sri
Dear IL'ites, This month saw nominations of posts very varied in mood and spirit. It is significant that as many as seven nominations dealt all about the woman's identity and marriage. And these threads brought to light the role that 'Indusladies' plays in our lives ! We seek our support system here and thankfully, are getting it ! Talks volumes about the success of our site and the sisterhood so prevalent here! As such, every one of us are big winners, I should say! Our members like Puni88, Ria2006, Chocolate, Kavya2007, Soaringspirit, just to mention a few, have gone all out of their way to lend a shoulder to a cry of desperation. If I mention all the names, you might find this post is a saga! Mind you, we know who you are and you know who you are Apart from the above mentioned posts and threads, we did a lot of introspection with essays on love, old age and even death and ghosts..at times, with humor! Then we had that lonely fish! But the fish is better off alone than having relatives or friends who taunt and hurt...we learnt that too, thanks to our talented writer-members. All in all, December- a month of festivities, provided a festival of interesting posts for us. We enjoyed, hope you too enjoyed?! Welcome 2008 and welcome all with your contributions and nominations :cheers With love, Kamla and Vidya

Dear punitha Hearty Congrats !!! :hatsoff:hatsoff Your winning post is a guide to all wives( old & new!) who enter the US and are totally lost when subjected to harassment. I really appreciate the concern with which you have handled this heavy topic, requesting women to think well before making the bold move by highlighting the emotional implications it can create later.:queen May your new year be filled with many more pleasant victories and may we at IL look forward to more such enlightening posts. Regards Honeybee
Dear Punitha, Heartiest congratulations to you on winning the FP for December! It was an eye opener and brought forth the sufferings of our women folks experiencing in a foreign country, most of them suffering silently. Wish you a happy 2008! Love, Pushpavalli
Dear Puni ma'am, Many hearty regards and congratulations on winning December's finest posts in this New and bountiful day !! The assertiveness that you have provided in your thread has gained its due recognition. Difficult situations do not strike the bell before they have been encountered with. But the experience and views, when shared in the right sense creates an awareness and aids in a better molding process. The need for preparation can be very well felt in your thread. Confronting difficult situations needs an approach that has built in flexibility. The emotional state of our own self in those circumstances should be well analyzed. Once again hearty wishes on starting the New Year with a spark ma'am.artyarty Regards RamyaVaradharajan
