    There were times when i used to dream of becoming a lyricists in movies. But the field was mostly controlled by males with occasional poetess like Maya Govind. Now we have two female lyricists, Kausar Munir and Rashmi Singh.

    I am very happy to learn that Rashmi Singh, just won the best lyricists filmfare award among noted lyricists like Gulzar.

    Not only song writers, even female music directors are rare in MCP controlled film industry.. Usha Khanna was so talented and gave innumerable hits especially this song.. Dil ke tukde by Yesudas...

    This post of yours is really short :) for a second I scrolled down to test my vision :tongue...yeah I watched the award over the w/e, men can't always be the dominating species right...was so bored of knowing or must say predictable - Best Lyrics awards were either bagged by Javed Akhtar or Gulzar....finally a new nomination and face now :wink:

    rightly said.
    reasons may be it is highly commercial i.e
    needs more than the ' romance ' which a female cant or hesitates
    to do coz she is excellent & shines well in soft feelings.
    moreover for all the love theme films , men only run after
    gals & express his feels. hero oriented & one sided mostly hence.
