Feeling sleepy during mid day time

    Hi all,

    I am a working lady and of course I love to work. But recently I found that I feel very very sleepy during mid mrng time esp between 8.30AM to 11.00AM. I am working in a fully air conditioned atmosphere and I don't know why I feel I am dropping down.

    I do drink coffee at times when I cant control. I do eat a good breakfast still I yawn at least 2-3 times within one minute...

    Can something be wrong with me. While writing this post I have yawned more than 10times.

    PLEASe HELP ME....

    hi Thinking beauty,
    I had a same problem like you.This is because lack of sleep,better to go to bed early and wake up early.
    you should keep interest in your work whatever you do.drink lemon /orange juice its really works..

    However late I sleep at night, the shower always refreshes and drives away the sleepiness. So could it be your morning food intake ?

    Hope you are having sufficient breakfast . If it's just coffee/tea, you may feel the mid-morning energy slump. Similarly, if breakfast is too heavy & high in calories too, you may feel sleepy. So, check if your breakfast is nutritious.

    hi thinking beauty -
    there might be several reasons for this ...

    1) you might need more protein in ur food... more carbs in ur food can zap ur energy.... in ur breakfast try to add in more protein, if ur break fast is carbs based like dosas or idlis ...

    2) try having more vitamin c ... like orange juice or orange in the morning at 9 am... it will help u beat the lethargy...

    3) u might need to incorporate physical activity in ur routine.. in addition, when u feel sleepy go for a walk (preferably outside) in the sun.. sun exposure will help u beat this...

    4) worst case (I hope this is not the case) u might be low on vitamin D... check for this as this can cause lethargy in people...

    may be you need to be more hydrated..... dehydration may be a cause for tiredness
