Re: Street food in Delhi

I love the ice cream, flaooda and shakes available at Giani's at Fatehpuri in the walled city area. In fact, I have grown up on the tasty falooda of the shop. Giani's now offers nearly 40 flavours of ice creams including flavours like Chikoo and Jaffrani kulfi.

The shop was started by a Sardarji who migrated from Pakistan way back in 1950.The owners have always placed a premium on quality and know me as a regular. They have now started franchisees and one fine day opened a outlet near my in-laws place. My whole family has falooda's from Giani's a couple of times in a month.

No description of the mind boggling variety of street food in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Delhi will be complete without the mouth watering delicacies of Old Delhi. Karim’s, near Jama Masjid has made a name for itself serving the best non veg delicacies over the years. I ordered the Lehmee Biryani Bahishti a special mutton biryani, with Khamiri Roti and Nihari. My companion relished the Shahjahani Kabab a special kebab stuffed with dry fruits.
Another famous outlet in the area is the Tunde ke kebab a more-than-century- old shop serving excellent Shami Kebabs.
