We , myself and my wife, were traveling from Nasik to Bombay in a second class train compartment, then called Inter Class. We were some 5/6 in the compartment including a young lady with a child in arms. Suddenly close to Igatpuri, the ceiling fan started emmiting smoke. We all panicked. Someone tried to pull the chain but it will not respond. I also tried. The lady was almost ready to jump from the train with the child in arms leaving her bag and purse behind. Thankfully the train started the slow down to halt at coming station.
It was a vindication of the theory purported by Shelock Holmes that in times of crises like fire people to try to save the most precious thing thye have. In this case it was the child.

:hello:The exclamation marks reveals the degree of relish you had while reading the anecdote. The incident was real but a slight exaggeration had to be made to keep the reader interest sustained. Thanks for your lovely comments. Regards.
    God Bless Us All.

:hello:Thank you for my share of the compliments. But I am content with Story teller. I am yet to master and feel my attempts are yet amateurish.
    Regards.
