    Hi all

These are the eye exercises we can do it on daily basis to avoid

Near point stress has been quoted as a cause of myopia. It refers to the fact that people do too much near work, e.g. reading and computer.

Near work causes the eyeballs to strain as they try to focus. As a result, the eyeballs adapts by changing its shape, becoming fatter and more circular.

This exercise will teach the eyeballs to return to its original shape, by simply by focusing near and far.

Hold up a finger or a pencil in front of you, about 6 inches away. Choose a salient object, e.g. a chimney, tree, flag etc. at least 20 feet (6 meters) away.

These will be your near and far points respectively.

Now, alternate between the near and far objects, looking at each for about 2 seconds at a time. Repeat until you feel your eyes really working, then persevere some more.

    ZONULES

Zonules are small fibers that regulate the shape of the lens to change focus from near to far objects. They relax and expand to allow the lens to increase its curvature and increase the refraction (bend) of light rays for near vision, and contract to flatten the curve of the lens to focus on distant objects.

    Palming

1.Sit comfortably on a chair. Rub your hands together until they feel warm.

2.Close the eyes and cover them lightly with your cupped palms.

3.Avoid applying pressure on your eye balls.

4.Place the palm so that the nose remains uncovered, and the eyes remain behind the slight hollow of the palms.

5.Make sure that no light rays enter the eyes, and leave no gaps between fingers or between the edge of the palms and the nose.

6.You may still see other lingering traces of colors.

7.Imagine deep blackness and focus on the blackness.

8.Take deep breaths slowly and evenly, think of some happy incident; or visualize a distant scene.

    9. Repeat the palming for 3 minutes or more.

    Splash water on your face

During breaks, splash water on your face while closing your eyes.

This has an overall relaxing effect and helps you feel refreshed.

    Take a walk

After you're done with lunch, take a stroll outside your office for a few minutes.

This will give your eyes a much-needed break and get them some fresh air.

Thanks mate, at last you may have helped me out and given ways which can give my eyes some respite. I need to sit in front of the PC for long hours in my office and as you can understand this leads to a lot of strain to the eyes. When I return back my eyes look reddish and I feel pain in them too. From tomorrow am going to try these out optimistic they would help.

Very useful information. Thanks for sharing.
But I've a small doubt. Whether we've to keep or remove specs while exercise?
I wear glasses all day long.
