    Hi!!

    Nice thread!!

When in a group, it's important to talk in a language everybody (in the group) understands. It's extremely bad etiquette to do otherwise.

Also, one should not talk/laugh in high decibels in public places, disturbing people around.

    Cheers!
    Ragini.

greet people when you meet them.
Don't interupt when somebody is talking.
Don't eat food in front of people who is not eating, without giving them.
serve all equally.(pandhi vanjanai koodadhu.) on the table.
Help with the dishes after eating.
Don't leave things as it is after using, put it in the proper place.

Don't blame, scold children in front of the guests or relatives who are in the house.

:) Hey, i was about to write this here.. good you added it. This is really important that we speak in universal language... also if you wnt to speak in your regional language, always ask others around you if they understand the same language, if they TOO understand, only then start speaking

Its good to talk in a low voice over phone.
When some one is on the phone at home, Don"t run the mixie or talk aloud.
It is good to keep the TV off when you have guests.:wave:wave

    Hey Abha,

Ha ha.....no wonder we both thought of the same thing, since we have faced many an awkward situation out here, with regard to language.:)

    Bye!

    hi

    at the cinema......

unwrap all candles and cough drops before the movie starts.

make sure beepers, cell phones are off and don't jangle the bangles.

    don't talk.

force yourself to wait for a pause before rifling through a purse....

don't leave while the show is still on..

Return a smile acknowledging the others cordial smile (especially abroad, it's rude to remain grumpy)

No secret soft murmering in the ears, when in group, no personal jokes.
