English vinglish vs barfi - anyone watched both?

    Dear ladies,

    Please tell me which movie is better. English vinglish or barfi?

    Dh wants to take dd for the first time to theater to see both these movies.

    I want to pick and watch just one.

    Pls tell me which one is better.

    EV- undoubtedly !!

    Barfi has scenes of autism (priyanka) so I dont know how good it will be for a little child to watch such stuff. JMO.

    Ev that good??? Wow.

    Sridevi is lucky to get such a good comeback movie...

    Eng-Ving is very nice movie...but my 4yr old son felt boring....

    Hope you choose among as per your DD interest

    Yes, EV is good and it will make you feel good as a woman too. While I feel movies like Barfi are hyped so much. I dont find it so great that it made it to oscars.

    I feel a movie should refresh our mood and not make it more worse. Anyhow your little girl might not understand both but scenes will make an impact on their minds.

    Actually both the movies are over hyped..I must say!

    English-Vinglish -I am not sure why everyone goes gaga about Sridevi--she looks very plastic ...but this is a family movie and we all can relate to it...
    Barfee - Movie on Autism...intense emotions...your DD would not understand all this...I loved the last 30 mins..of the movie..it was touching...rest was a straight lift from Charlie Chaplin's movies...and I am not sure how it got to OSCARS !!

    Just my 2 cents..

    Thanks a lot guys for the review.

    Dd has see her own share of Disney movies

    Idea is to deny dd her afternoon nap and make her sleep through the movie. ;-)

    This is the first one for us after 4 years.

    That is why I want to pick just one as I don't want to inconvenience her much. But dh a movie addict has not seen one grown up movie for 4 years in a theater. Poor thing.

    kids may feel bored watchng english vinglish ...it's a must watch for all housewives...sridevi is not loking good but she did a great job,very expressive..!her character is potrayed so well..it could have been much bettr,yet it stands ahead of all othr movies,refreshng too

    I have watched both movies, I liked English Vinglish more than Barfi but from your dd's point of view, I think she'll find Barfi more entertaining. She will enjoy the Charlie Chaplin style comedy bits.

    Hi,

    I liked EV better than Barfee.... Not sure what they were trying to convey in Barfee but it was boring for me, my DH liked though:) I think EV would be a better movie to watch in a Theatre. Barfee u can watch online also..... just my opinion. hope u njoy whichever movie u go:)
